Testogel is a prescription medication containing a form of testosterone, a naturally occurring hormone in men. It is commonly prescribed to adult men experiencing conditions related to low or absent testosterone levels. For Testogel to be effective, it must be used regularly as directed by your healthcare provider. Discontinuing use without consulting your doctor, even if you feel better, could result in the return or worsening of symptoms.

To maintain consistent testosterone levels, apply Testogel at the same time each morning. Make sure your skin is clean, dry, and healthy, specifically on the upper arm or shoulder. Gently spread the gel in a thin, even layer—there’s no need to rub it in forcefully. After application, wash your hands thoroughly to avoid accidentally transferring the gel to others. Allow the gel to dry for 3-5 minutes before dressing, and be sure to cover the application area with clothing to minimize the risk of exposing others to testosterone. Avoid bathing or swimming for at least two hours after application to ensure the gel is fully absorbed. Prime the canister pump before first use by pressing the actuator three times; discard initial gel.

Testosterone from Testogel can be transferred to others through direct contact with the application area, potentially causing the development of male characteristics in women or children. To prevent this, always cover the area with clothing once the gel has dried and wash your hands with soap and water after application.

Testogel is not intended for use in women. If it comes into contact with the skin of a pregnant or breastfeeding woman, it can harm the baby. As Testogel is alcohol-based, it is flammable until it dries on the skin. Avoid smoking or being near open flames until the gel has completely dried.

While testosterone is generally well-tolerated, be aware of serious side effects like blood clots. Symptoms may include sudden leg pain or swelling, unexplained shortness of breath, chest pain, or a rapid heartbeat. If you experience any of these, stop taking your medication and seek immediate medical attention. Report any concerning symptoms to your clinician to ensure your safety during treatment.

Regular monitoring is key to keeping your treatment safe. Attend all follow-up blood tests at 1, 4, 7, and 12 months to track your biomarkers and ensure your levels remain in a safe range. These tests, included in the program cost, can be easily booked online. Completing the symptom (AMS) questionnaire at the same intervals also helps us monitor your progress. Since testosterone can affect blood pressure, we’ll monitor this regularly to ensure your treatment is effective.

Remember to take your blood test 2 to 4 hours after your morning dose. This helps ensure that the test results accurately reflect your baseline hormone levels, providing your healthcare provider with the necessary information to manage your treatment effectively.

It’s important to remember that Testogel may take between 3 to 6 months to show its full effects. During this period, your doctor may monitor your testosterone levels and adjust the dosage as necessary.
